Objectives

iNGENIOUS will create a security architecture for Next-Generation IoT (NG-IoT) which will also include Blockchains/Distributed Ledger Technologies.   



Develop new Cellular IoT solutions, using innovative 5G systems at both New Radio (NR) and 5G Core (5GC) for enabling the enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB) and Ultra-reliable and Low-latency Communications (URLLC) capabilities that the tactile use cases will demand.
Exploit AI/ML technologies across all iNGENIOUS architectural layers, i.e. from neuromorphic sensor level to smarter applications passing through network automation enablers
– AI-based Data Analytics framework to allow for an autonomous management of the NG-IoT networks, based on the ETSI ENI and 3GPP (NWDAF, MDAF)
– Predictive models for port and shipping data and processes
Enable semantic and syntactic interoperability of the heterogeneous Machine-to-Machine (M2M) platforms as well as at higher DLT solutions deployed in the supply chain market
1. public and private DLTs/Blockchains for the dynamic management of identities and the the detection of potential misbehaviours of devices or mishandling of data
2. cross-DLT layer (TrustOS) to allow an interoperable communication across different blockchain technologies (Bitcoin, Ethereum, IBM TradeLens, Hyperledger Fabric, and IOTA)
Define a 5G-IoT architecture with security by design and isolation by default through IoT devices based on new hardware paradigms (microkernel-based OS with a tile-based hw architecture) and neuromorphic-enhanced sensors
